The Farm Experience at Grüne Woche 2025: Interactive Paths to Explore Modern Agriculture

From January 17 to 26, 2025, the Farm Experience at the Grüne Woche fair will become a meeting place for anyone wanting to experience modern agriculture firsthand. In Hall 3.2, organized by the Forum for Modern Agriculture and around 70 partners from the agricultural and food sectors, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the most current topics in an engaging way. Under the motto “Secure Food. Protect Nature.”, the “Paths to the Future” will showcase innovations in technology, nature conservation, sustainable land management, and animal welfare-focused breeding practices.

Four Paths to the Future: A Practical Approach to Agriculture
The Farm Experience offers four exciting paths, each uniquely illuminating different aspects of modern agriculture. At the entrance, visitors can participate in a quiz to help them choose the most suitable path. From there, they embark on an interactive exploration of the hall.

  1. The “Animals” Path: Responsibility for Farm Animal Welfare
What does animal welfare look like in modern agriculture? The “Animals” path focuses on the health and well-being of farm animals. Visitors will discover how innovative stable technology, smart feeding systems, and careful monitoring ensure the highest standards.
  2. The “Future Technology” Path: Innovations in Agriculture
Digital technologies are transforming agriculture. On this path, visitors will see how state-of-the-art machinery and software solutions are revolutionizing work in the fields. From tractors with alternative drives to drones for yield monitoring and business optimization apps, they’ll learn how agriculture is becoming both more efficient and sustainable.
  3. The “Nature of the Future” Path: Protecting Biodiversity and Resources
Nature is agriculture’s most important partner. On this path, visitors will learn how farms promote ecosystems and preserve biodiversity. From flower strips for insects and bird sanctuaries to sustainable water management, this path will show how agriculture benefits from and actively protects nature.
  4. The “Soil of the Future” Path: The Foundation of Our Food
Without healthy soil, food security is impossible. This path will demonstrate why the ground beneath our feet is so important. Visitors will see how farmers help preserve fertility through careful soil management, crop rotation, and humus enrichment. At interactive stations, they’ll test how different soils retain water and discover measures to prevent erosion.

A Treasure Hunt with a Reward
The Paths to the Future are designed as an interactive treasure hunt. Visitors of all ages can answer questions and uncover fascinating facts at the stands. Those who visit all the stations along the path will receive a refreshing drink in one of four collectible glasses as a reward—the perfect end to their visit.

A Varied Stage Program: Knowledge with Fun
Another significant part of the Farm Experience is the daily stage program, offering engaging insights and discussions on key topics in agriculture and food—from animal welfare and biodiversity to innovations, crop cultivation, and nutrition. The program is intended for visitors of all ages, inviting them to participate actively.

The Farm Experience: A Place for Dialogue
“We want to show that today’s agriculture is innovative, sustainable, and responsible,” emphasizes Lea Fließ, director of the Forum for Modern Agriculture. “Our thematic paths provide a fun and educational approach to key issues of food and nature conservation. The Farm Experience is a place for dialogue between farmers, policymakers, and consumers.”
