The 100th anniversary of Grüne Woche celebrates the extraordinary breadth of the agricultural and food sector, a world shaped equally by heritage and innovation. This year, Hall 22a becomes the heart of the fair’s organic community, gathering producers, researchers, chefs, and consumers under the shared motto Experience Organic. It is a space where visitors can see how responsible production, careful processing and thoughtful marketing form the foundation of a sustainable future. Ecological principles remain central, while regional identity stands out as a defining thread.
Throughout the fair, consumers, professionals and journalists are invited to discover authentic stories from the organic world. Hall 22a offers a lively mix of demonstrations, hands-on workshops and tasting sessions, all designed to bring organic production closer to everyday life. The stage programme enriches the atmosphere with cooking shows led by renowned organic chefs Nina Meyer and Sebastian Junge, complemented by wine tastings, expert discussions, creative workshops and musical performances featuring regional artists. It is a place where organic agriculture becomes tangible, accessible and genuinely inspiring.
A key pillar of the organic hall is the Federal Organic Farming Programme (BÖL), which celebrates its own milestone in 2026. For twenty-five years, the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Rural Affairs has used this programme to strengthen the development of organic and sustainable agriculture in Germany. At Grüne Woche, the BÖL brings together demonstration farms, members of the Organic Processing Practice Network, scientific research teams, representatives of organic cities and value chains, the Organic Label Information Centre and the Association of Organic Top Chefs. Their presence provides fair visitors with practical insights, meaningful conversations and a taste of regional organic specialties. Together, they embody the spirit of the hall’s message: Experience organic. Enjoy home.
The major organic associations add further depth to this year’s exhibition. Bioland highlights the foundations on which around ten thousand of its member farms operate, presenting its ecological principles in an engaging, visitor-friendly way. Together with partners from the beekeeping sector and major retailers, Bioland illustrates why organic practices matter and how they shape healthier ecosystems and stronger rural communities.
The Demeter community offers a vibrant look at enjoyment, health and living soil, brought to life through products ranging from biodynamic coffee and fruit juices to honey and wine. A life-size cow model invites visitors of all ages to try milking, reminding everyone that agriculture begins with the simplest of human experiences.
Naturland, the world’s largest international organic association, underlines the importance of supporting ecological farming on both local and global levels. Guests can sample organic coffee, taste fair-trade olives and even explore the world of organic aquaculture through a playful “fish and chips” tasting. The presence of ALDI-SÜD demonstrates how organic products are increasingly finding their place in mainstream retail, further strengthening organic value chains.
The culinary charm of the organic hall continues with the Brodowin eco-village cooking team, which prepares fresh dishes using seasonal ingredients sourced from the three major farming associations. Visitors can enjoy rich espresso, smooth crema varieties and a selection of homemade pastries that reflect the warmth and simplicity of organic living.
Representatives of the German Organic Food Industry Association (BÖLW) are also available for discussions with participants from agriculture, food production, politics and civil society, ensuring that the hall remains a meeting point for ideas, policy perspectives and future strategies.
Additional exhibitors broaden the landscape even further. The Berlin Senate presents its “BERLIN isst anders” initiative, alongside the “Weltacker” travelling exhibition created by the Future Foundation for Agriculture. Modern technology also has its place, with Fendt showcasing an innovative electric tractor, while visitors can discover new flavours from KERNVOll, a vegan organic catering company, and Rockets Nutrition, known for its fruit-based smart snacks.
What becomes evident throughout Hall 22a is a shared conviction: organic agriculture is not only environmentally responsible, but also dynamic, innovative and confidently oriented toward the future. Families, professionals and curious visitors alike can experience sustainability in action, reflected in regional products, interactive demonstrations and forward-thinking ideas that paint a compelling picture of tomorrow’s food systems.
